ELS wants to create a full English immersion experience for ALL our students. This will help you learn and practice your English skills and it will encourage interaction between students from different language groups.
If a staff person catches you speaking a language other than English, you must:
immediately leave the school for the rest of the day
or
pay $5, which we donate to charity (ie. World Vision)
Students who are 17 years old or younger, must pay the $5 penalty, as they cannot leave the school.
If you are caught after 1:45pm, you must pay the $5 or have no school the next dayl!
This policy applies everywhere in the building!!
A Student Says:
"On Day 2, school started. From then on, the only allowed language in school was English. This helps a lot to learn the language and - the even more important effect - to get in contact with the other students more easily. Since everyone is in the same position - alone in a foreign country -you quickly make new friends."
